Who is Dr. Tristan Taylor?
I was raised in the small mountain town of Alpine, Utah. I grew up spending my weekends hiking, fishing, camping, and everything in between. Living in the mountains instilled a life-long appreciation for the quality of life place like Teton Valley can offer families.
My interest in dentistry began when I was 9 years old after an unfortunate accident involving a BB gun and my front tooth which lead to a very uncomfortable and worry filled weekend for me.
I still remember how great I felt after my visit to the dentist. Not only did he take away the pain, he also gave me back my smile!
Where Did You Learn Dentistry?
After high school, I attended Brigham Young University to continue my studies and worked doing genetic research. It was during this time that I met my beautiful wife. I convinced her to follow me to Oklahoma where I attended the University of Oklahoma for my dental education. After graduation I joined a practice in south Oklahoma City.
There I had great mentors who encouraged me to never stop learning and to continue building the skills I would need to deliver the best possible care to my patients. While we very much enjoyed the people of Oklahoma we were always looking to move back to the mountains.
How Did You End Up In Teton Valley?
When the devastating tornadoes came through the state the spring of 2013, it gave us the chance to look for opportunities closer to home. Through a contact from one of my continuing education courses at the Dick Barnes Group we found out that Mountain River Dental in Victor, Idaho was for sale.
We have now been here for 6 years and love the everything that living in a place like Teton Valley gives us. We are so excited to be here in Victor and look forward to providing the best care possible as your Teton Valley Dentist.
